Fragrant Basmati rice cooked with herbs and saffron. The delicate rice is then layered with vegetables or meat that have been simmered in a rich sauce of fresh ginger, garlic and garam masala. The pot is then sealed and the biryani is left to cook undisturbed for the flavors to infuse. This exquisite dish is served adorned with golden, crisp onions, slivered almonds, raisins and silver leaf. The biryani is traditionally accompanied with an aromatic vegetable dish along with a rich and creamy dessert scented with rosewater.
