May 29th Farmers Market

tasty and nourishing masala dosa

Had a fantastic day at the Hollywood Farmer’s market, we sold out around 12:15p – and still had customers asking for more.

Thanks to my team of Madhu, Rena and Rick, despite the rain and damp weather we had a very successful first day.

Also thanks to all who came out to try the freshly made dosa, which was a perfect meal for a grey, damp day. Come visit us next Saturday from 8am to 2pm.

Sophie, my main question was, is there garlic in your breakfast dosas as my husband is highly allergic to garlic, and it will be helpful to know if I can promise to bring one back to him from the market.

    Hello Bobbie:

Typically, garlic is not an ingredient that is used in South Indian cooking – however, that is not true for dishes that represent the cuisine of the north.

Masala dosa and coconut chutney do not have any garlic and I would be very happy if you took one back for your husband.

Thank you and I would be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Hi Sophie, Your web site is beautiful and you look great in the photos. Pretty soon, you’ll have a cooking show on national T.V. Hope to see you at the rambles soon. Last night’s weather was just right. We’ll come to the market for breakfast soon. Your friend, Tom

    Hi Tom:
Thank you so much for your comments and it was great to see you and Gretchen at the market and look forward to seeing you both at the market sometime soon. I was hoping to make it to the ramble last evening, but spent the time working in my garden. Take care and best wishes to you both. Sophie
